FAQ

"What is Premium Rattan"

Premium Rattan is high quality Manau Rattan that has been processed to be straighter than our Regular Rattan.  It is visibly straighter, but this does not affect the strength or longevity of the rattan for SCA Armored Combat.

"What is Shaved Rattan"

Shaved Rattan is Manau Rattan that has been milled to approximately 1”, 1.25" or 1.5". This removes the skin, for a straighter, more uniform pole. This does reduce the longevity of the stick, especially for single handed weapons, although short two-handed weapons and spears still hold up very well.

Shipping

Shipping Rattan poles & cut lengths is, to put it mildly, awkward and can be costly.  For anything more than a few sword lengths, you willprobably find the FedEx option to be less expensive.  For small items (Thrust tips & other Miscellaneous items), USPS is usually the better option. Tracking numbers are available on request, I usually have FedEx send automatic email updates to customers as well.

Please understand that this is a hobby business for me and I have an 8-5 regular job.  I also spend almost half my weekends selling at SCA events.  I do my best to get things packed and out in a timely manner, but it can take a couple days.
